Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry

The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is the professional degree in the field of chemistry.  The BS degree at The University of Toledo is certified by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society.  This entitles graduates immediate full-membership in the American Chemical Society.  The Chemistry program at UT has been continuously certified for over 60 years.

The BS degree is often the degree of choice for students wishing to continue their studies in graduate school toward the Master’s, Ph.D., or in other professional programs.  Students earning the BS degree in chemistry also typically gain employment with significant responsibility in laboratories in the chemical, pharmaceutical, clinical, and allied professional industries.  Course requirements for the BS are given below.
