Courses offered at the LEC
The University of Toledo's Lake Erie Center (LEC) will be offering two college credit courses in Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 at our research and education facility in Oregon, OH.

Fall 2008

ENGL 1110, English Composition I, Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00-9:30am
Writing for personal and public situations; instruction and practice in generating, developing, researching, and presenting ideas.  Instructor: Dr. Paul Wise.  (3 credit hours)

EEES 1010, Physical Geology, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00-9:30am
An introduction to geology, including rocks and minerals, natural resources, continental drift, earthquakes, volcanos, and global warming.  Includes field trips!  Natural Sciences core course.  Instructor: Dr.  Alan Skrzyniecki.  (3 credit hours)

EEES 6980-001, Applied Spatial Ecology, Monday, 3:30-6:00pm
Instruction: Dr. Jon Bossenbroek

EEES 6980-20, Thursday, 3:00pm-4:50pm, 2.0 credit hours, Lake Erie Center (masters fellow)

EEES 8930-20, Thursday, 4:00pm-4:50pm, 1.0 credit hour, Lake Erie Center (teachers)

EEES 8980-010, Thursday, 3:00-4:50pm, 2.0 credit hours, Lake Erie Center (PhD fellows)

 

Spring 2009

EEES 1130, Down to Earth Environmental Science, Mondays and Wednesdays, 8:00-9:15am
An introductory course that stresses the application of ecological principles to the solution of human population and pollution problems. Natural Sciences core course. (3 credit hours)

ENGL 1140, College Composition II: Writing the Community, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00-9:15am
Reading and analyzing documents from multiple disciplines to synthesize results from different perspectives and produce disciplinarily appropriate writing. Web enhanced. Critical reading, research papers required. Prerequisite: ENGL 1100 or 1110.  English core course. (3 credit hours)
