James A. Chidester, a native of Ohio, holds a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey. He studied organ with Alexander McCurdy. A full time church musician for 45 years, Mr. Chidester has served Episcopal, Methodist, Lutheran, Congregational, and Presbyterian churches, as well as Jewish temples, in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston, Canton (Ohio), Buffalo, and Toledo. He is Director of Music Emeritus, Christ Presbyterian Church, Toledo, after 17 years of service. Mr. Chidester has been Instructor of Organ at the University of Toledo since 1980. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists, and past Dean of the Canton and Toledo chapters. Mr. Chidester is married, with three children, and five grandchildren.
