Dr. Jason Stumbo is currently the Director of Bands at the University of Toledo, where he directs all aspects of the band program and teaches courses in conducting, orchestration, and music education. Dr. Stumbo received the BS in Music Education from the Unviersity of Tennessee at Knoxville. He then spent several years teaching in the Tennessee public schools before returning to the University of Tennessee for the MM in Conducting. He continued his studies at the University of Missouri, completing coursework toward the PhD in Music Education. Prior to his appointment at the University of Toledo, Dr. Stumbo served as the Associate Director of Bands at the University of Missouri, where he directed the 280-member Marching Mizzou, was conductor of the university Symphonic Band, and taught courses in basic conducting, wind repertoire, and music education. Dr. Stumbo is an active adjudicator, clinician, and conductor, whose career has recently expanded to include instructional clinics and presentations at the University of Georgia, the University of Manitoba, Canada, and the Young Conductor’s Development Program in New South Wales, Australia.
