
Patrick holds degrees in music history, music theory, and women’s studies from the University of Ottawa (B.mus), the Eastman School of Music (MA), and Brandeis University (MFA, Ph.D.). He has served as faculty member for the Eastman School of Music, Brandeis University, the Longy School of Music, and the University of Miami before joining the Department of Music at the University of Toledo. He has presented conference papers for the Society for American Music and the American Musicological Society. His research interests center on the intersection of contemporary critical theory, musicology, and gender studies. He is in the process of writing articles on Charles Ives and an undergraduate textbook entitled
Gender, Sexuality, and Music: An Introduction.
