[3 hours] A survey of the sociohistorical and cultural factors related to the immigration and adaptation of the Irish in America. Prerequisite: 6 hrs of social science. U.S. multicultural course. WAC credit.

[3 hours] Urban Anthropology takes an anthropological exploration into the emergence, complexity and diversity of cities. Through the course we examine and explore such topics as the emergence of cities, factors that influence change over time in cities, such as industrialization, migration, deindustrialization, the role of unions, and the effect of the global economy on local spaces. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
