The Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) is required for all students taking a Business course at The University of Toledo. It is utilized in the classrooms as required reading or as resource material. For $19, students receive a print version which is available to be picked up in a kiosk in the basement of Stranahan Hall and students also receive the on-line WSJ for the entire academic year. So even if a student can't get a print copy for the day, the on-line version is always available. The WSJ would normally cost several hundred dollars.

Other major institutions who have already instituted this process are, for example, Carnegie Mellon, The Ohio State University, University of Dayton, University of Notre Dame, Purdue University and Youngstown State University. UT's College of Business piloted using the WSJ in several courses throughout the 2004-2005 academic year. It had great feedback from the students who were involved in these courses. Employers have commented on how important it is for Business professionals to be familiar with the periodical and what a great addition to the curriculum it is.
The College of Business wants to ensure that our Business graduates will have every advantage when they enter the job market.
