UTRA Benefits - University of Toledo Retirees
In the past, members of UTRA have had the opportunity to elect Dental and Vision coverage through the University. These benefits were equivalent to those of active employees at the University and were an alternative to the benefits available through STRS and OPERS.
Effective December 31, 2007, the Dental and Vision benefits available through UTRA will be discontinued due to financial reasons. Only those who are currently enrolled and show paid status through 2007 will be eligible to maintain coverage on an annual basis. All others still have the opportunity to enroll in the dental and vision benefits available through STRS and OPERS. Our records indicate that, although you may be a current UTRA member, you currently have not paid premiums for the dental and vision coverage for 2007.
We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the dental and vision coverage offered through STRS and OPERS. Please contact STRS or OPERS directly. To contact STRS (for former Faculty members) you may call 1.888.227.7877 and OPERS (for former Staff) at 1.800.222.7377.
In addition, those currently on the benefit will only be able to continue coverage. Once coverage has been dropped either voluntarily or due to non payment, no re-enrollments will be permitted.
