Job 997701 ~ Application Security Architect, IT:
The Application Security Architect, under the direction of IT's Director of Information Security, is charged with providing security consultation and review regarding the design, implementation, and operation of computerized application systems. These engagements are intended to insure that all applications are implemented with appropriate security measures that meet or exceed the regulatory requirements and best practices for information security and protect the informational assets of the university. Applications under review will include clinical, academic, administrative, and office productivity systems. Regulations and accreditation requirements may include those such as HIPAA, JCAHO and FERPA.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 7 years experience in the design, deployment, operation, and security of application systems in a medium to large organization. Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in information systems or information security; strong understanding of information security requirements and regulations in the medical, academic and public sectors including HIPAA, FERPA, JCAHO, etc. Technical and/or Information Security certifications desirable, such as CISSP.
