    Job 999127, Psychiatrist, Student Medical Center:

    Psychiatric services at the Student Medical Center are provided in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team approach.  The psychiatrist will provide quality services through psychiatric evaluation, medication initiation, medication checks and follow-up care in an ambulatory health care setting. Coding of procedures and diagnoses will be performed in a medical computer system and an electronic health record will be utilized to record patient notes.  He/she will make appropriate referrals to outside health care providers. 

    The psychiatrist is expected to adhere to all applicable State and Federal regulations, established professional standards in this area, and all applicable standards of performance as reviewed through performance evaluations and peer review.  In addition, he/she is required to fully support the goals and objectives of Health & Wellness, Student Life, and University of Toledo. 

    This position is part time 20 hours per week.  The hours of work will fall between 8:30am – 5:00pm.  This position could be required to work weekends and holidays.  Salary to commensurate with education and experience.

    Requirements for the position include

    1.         Licensed physician in the State of Ohio.

    2.         Board Eligible in Psychiatry required; Board Certification preferred.

    3.         Current D.E.A. Registration

    4.         Experience with student assistance programs and other sources of medication     funding desired.

    5.         Interest and experience working with college-age clients; interest in clients seeking treatment for eating disorders, alcohol and drug abuse, ADD, and dual diagnosis.

    6.         Demonstrated commitment to maintaining competence in working with students from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

    7.         Computer proficiency, including word processing and the use of the Internet, required.

    8.         Previous experience utilizing medical computer systems desirable.

    9.         Demonstrated excellence in customer service.

    10.       Knowledge of the University and community resources preferred.
