The Doctor of Nursing Practice program* at The University of Toledo builds on current master’s-prepared, nationally certified Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Nurse Administrators. The University of Toledo College of Nursing offers this program in collaboration with Wright State University College of Nursing and Health. Students are admitted in cohorts of 10 at each university. The program is considered primarily online with a few sessions on either the UT or WSU campus. The DNP program will be offered as part-time only to the first few cohorts. The curriculum is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses to work in a variety of direct or indirect health care settings according to their education. The curriculum includes theoretically based and clinically focused courses. *Approved by Ohio Board of Regents 12/06/07

The University of Toledo College of Nursing is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree programs are nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education; Associate Degree program is nationally accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission.
Admissions Information
All application materials must be received by March 1st. • MSN/MS (Nursing) in advanced clinical practice or nursing administration from a CCNE or NLNAC accredited program. • Minimum grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale from master’s degree • Official transcripts of all college work (Direct Registrar to send directly to UT College of Graduate Studies) • Current national board certification in advanced clinical practice in nursing or nursing administration. • Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in Ohio • For Direct Care applicants, current OH COA to practice as advanced practice nurse. • Personal statement describing career goals, applied research interests, and expectations for doctoral study • Current resume or CV • Three recommendations from professional sources (one from faculty in major area of concentration from master’s program) • Face-to-face Interview
