Program Overview There are two programs: Master of Health Education and School Nurse Licensure.
The main purpose of the Master of Health Education is to provide insight into educational cultural foundations, research foundations, curriculum, educational psychology foundations, and health content and pedagogy. Students in this program should already have an undergraduate degree in school health education or a closely related area.
The Master of Education in Health Education (School Nurse Licensure Program) is linked with the 40-semester hour Masters of Education in Health Education program. Individuals accepted into this program must have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an equivalent four-year nursing degree.
Of Special Interest Health education involves study in healthy behavior, human sexuality, nutrition, and substance abuse. Career opportunities include health teachers in schools and with non-profit health agencies and health departments.
Curriculum Information The Master’s Degree in Health Education is a 36-hour program.
