    Health Insurance

The University of Toledo’s Mandatory Health Insurance policy affects ALL Domestic STUDENTS!

Are you registered for six or more on-campus credit hours?
Are you insured under your parents’ plan or do you have your own health insurance plan?

If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, you may waive the UT health insurance.

If you do NOT waive UT’s health insurance, the fee will automatically be assessed to your student account!
Instructions to Waive Mandatory Health Insurance Online:
    • Go to UT’s Portal at myut.utoledo.edu
    • Enter your “myUT” username and password in the fields provided.
    • Click on “login”
    • Click on Self Service Tab
    • Under Registration Steps, Click on Health Insurance Waive or Enrollment Link
    • Click on “Waiver Request”
    • Complete your information as requested

All waiver requests will be validated with your insurance company. If insurance status cannot be verified, the waiver is revoked and the insurance premium will be assessed. If you have questions about the on-line waiver, please contact Aetna Student Health at 866-746-6591.

    International Students

All International Students registered for One or  more credit hours and have comparable health insurance may waive through the UT Portal.

    Why Have Insurance?

Many students do not recognize the value of a good health insurance plan because the majority of students are young, healthy, and living on a very tight budget.

However, unforeseen health care expenses can easily disrupt a student’s college career.
