The Department of Health Professions is located on the 2nd floor of the HSHS building.
The programs housed in the Department of Health Professions include:
Cardiovascular Technology
Program Director – Suzanne Wambold PhD, RN, RDCS, FASE
Graduates of this program assist physicians by performing non-invasive cardiovascular exams including echocardiograms and peripheral vascular studies to determine the extent and location of disease. They are employed in hospitals, physician offices and diagnostic imaging centers.
Health Information Management
Program Director – Marie Janes MEd, RHIA
Graduates of this program possess the expertise to develop, implement and/or manage individual aggregate and public healthcare data collection and reporting systems. They are employed in administrative positions as supervisors, managers, and directors in acute and ambulatory care settings, as well as in the private sector and for governmental agencies.
Respiratory Care
Program Director – Suzanne Spacek MEd, RRT-NPS, CPFT
Graduates of this program assist physicians with the diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and management of patients with cardiopulmonary disorders.
All three programs are nationally accredited. Students interested in these programs should begin their educational experience by applying to the University of Toledo and meeting with an academic advisor (419-530-5360).
