    Why Major in Criminal Justice at the college/university level?

    Professionalism and education are very important in the field of Criminal Justice. A quality college education will improve your employment and promotional opportunities and will help you become a better person. There are more and more people interested in criminal justice careers everyday, which means increased competition for criminal justice jobs. A bachelor's degree in criminal justice will help increase your employment options and chances. In addition, after working several years at the line or entry level, may people desire to be promoted to a more challenging and rewarding position. A bachelor's degree will help increase your employment opportunities in the field of criminal justice.

     

    The Criminal Justice Program at the University of Toledo

    A Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Jusitce is offered.

    The criminal justice program at the University of Toledo is designed to prepare the graduate to:

    • work in the criminal justice field
    • work for private industy/businesses
    • to attend graduate school in criminal justice or a related discipline.
    • to attend law school.

    Because communication and thinking skills are essential to be successful in both the workplace and in graduate school, the program emphasizes writing, speaking, critical thinking, and problem solving skills in their classes.

    Our academic advisor works with each of our students to develop an individualized plan of study designed to facilitate the student’s realization of his or her educational and career objectives.

    You will find in our department dedicated and accessible faculty who have both the academic qualifications and experience needed to educate and career counsel our students. Faculty welcome the opportunity to interact with students both in and outside the classroom.
