Carlson Library Reference Collection
The Carlson Reference Collection consists of books that are used primarily to look up specific information such as dictionaries, indexes, encyclopedias, handbooks, etc. Materials in the Reference Collection cannot be checked out; they must be used in the library or photocopied.
Location
The bulk of the Reference Collection is
located on the first floor of Carlson Library, in the area around the Reference & Information Desk and continuing past the elevators to the east. Periodical Indexes are located on the second floor of Carlson Library, along the interior walls.
Arrangement
The Reference Collection books on the first floor of Carlson Library are arranged by Library of Congress (LC) Call Numbers, which puts books on similar topics near one another on the shelves.
