The University of Toledo Libraries : Electronic Journals

The University of Toledo Library provides access to nearly 33,000 electronic journals and magazines.  The quickest way to find them is our UT Libraries Electronic Journal portal, which lists journals from OhioLINK, our own subscriptions, and full-text journals available in our many research databases.

Many of the electronic journals can also be found in  the UT Library Catalog.  Search for a journal title in the UT Library Catalog by adding the word “online” to the end of the title.  Or search for a journal title by title or keyword, and limit the search results to Location Internet and/or Material Type Periodical/Ser.

For most electronic journals, access is restricted to University of Toledo students, staff, and faculty.  For off campus access to restricted journals, you must connect through the UT Library Catalog, not by going directly to the journal homepage.  Please see the Remote Access page for instructions on using electronic resources from off campus.  For many of the journals, you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader plug-in software to view and print the journal pages. 

OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center

Full text articles from several thousand electronic journals.  Available to all OhioLINK libraries.  For information on publishers and dates of coverage, please see the Notes on Content.  You can register to be notified via e-mail when new articles arrive on particular topics or in particular journals, or subscribe to a journal's RSS feed.

• Browse titles in the EJC by title or topic
• Search for words in the author, title, abstract, or journal name
• Read the OhioLINK Acceptable Use Policy 

JSTOR

An archive of older (not current) articles from core journals in a variety of disciplines.  Typically, the most recent two to five years are not available.  The University of Toledo Library subscribes to three JSTOR collections which include journals primarily from the social sciences, humanities, and life sciences.  Articles can be printed using Adobe Acrobat or special JSTOR software, but the Library recommends Acrobat.  To print articles, please choose Print from the JSTOR menu, rather than the print function on your browser.  Remember, for off campus access, connect to journals from the UT Library Catalog.

Publications of Scholarly Societies:

 The library has subscriptions to the journals of several scholarly societies, particularly in the sciences. For off campus access you must connect through the UT Library Catalog catalog, not by going directly to the society homepage.
