    ALI Levels and Classes

Full-time ALI students receive 20 hours of classroom instruction a week from highly experienced and professional instructors.

    The Daily Classes
ALI offers three levels of instruction (basic, intermediate, and advanced) in writing, speaking/listening, and grammar.  Reading instruction is offered at four levels.  A full-time ALI student attends one fifty-minute class daily in each of the four skill areas.
    Listening Lab
In addition, students also receive two hours a week of less formal instruction through ALI's listening lab.  When enrollment permits, students also meet for two hours weekly of conversation with a native speaker, usually a UT student.
    Small Classes
The average class size in a recent term at the ALI was approximately 7 students. This may go up in the future, but will normally not exceed 12.  Because of the excellent student-teacher ratio, students get individual attention from their instructors when they need it and have an excellent environment for language learning.
