    TASC Program

    Developed by the Learning Enhancement Center, The Office of International Student Services, the Graduate School, and The Center for Teaching and Learning with input from current international graduate TAs at The University of Toledo.

    Purpose of TASC: To help International Teaching Assistants (ITAs) develop effective classroom management techniques and teaching strategies and understand the culture of the American classroom.

    Open to all International Teaching Assistants

     Session I:

  • Learn how to make a good impression on the first day, introduce the course and clearly present their expectations to students.

  • Gain a better understanding of what American students expect of instructors and other basic US cultural classroom comportment.

  • Session II: Review of your first few weeks teaching
    What are some problems or difficulties you are facing and how can you face these challenges?
    Getting feedback from your students to help you improve your teaching

    Session III: Review of Assessments
    How can you become an even better teacher?
    Review of problems and difficulties in the classroom
    American cultural issues
