    Notions of Appropriate Behavior
"American classrooms are rather informal.  My students would bring in pop and sandwiches and eat while I was teaching."  -ITA, Spain

American classrooms are informal compared to other countries. It is not uncommon to see professors dressed in jeans, students eating inside the classroom, or arriving or leaving early.

"There are many students who will arrive late while I am teaching or leave early."
    ITA, India
