Provost's Welcome Letter

The Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs for the Main Campus serves as The University of Toledo's academic leader. With a focus on strong, high-quality academic programs, the University values discovery, learning and engagement. Programs are developed and delivered through partnerships among this office, dynamic colleges, an outstanding honors program, a world-class faculty and a highly diverse student body.

Discovery takes place as individual faculty members, students and research teams generate knowledge and increase our understanding of a range of issues and problems of societal importance. Whether in the laboratory, the studio or in one of our state of the art research facilities, some of the most exciting discovery occurring in the world today is taking place at The University of Toledo.

Relying on an outstanding faculty and a dynamic student body, learning at UT takes place in many forms, at a host of sites, and in communities and homes around the globe. The University of Toledo is a leader in accessible, affordable and high-quality credit and non-credit academic programming, including certificate programs, two and four year degree programs and a wide range of graduate degree programs. The transfer and sharing of knowledge is one of the foundational reasons why The University of Toledo exists.

UT students, faculty, programs, departments, colleges and the institution itself are engaged with the world around us. Whether that engagement occurs at the level of the individual, the family, the community, the city, the region, the state or the world, The University of Toledo makes important contributions to contemporary world issues. We are making significant differences in the lives of people, businesses, industries, institutions and governmental organizations. UT is an engaged University.

Poised to meet the needs and challenges of the 21st century, The University of Toledo offers high quality and relevant academic programs that make a difference. Relying on the premise that successful organizations are those that build the strongest partnerships, the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs for the Main Campus has the pleasure of and responsibility for leading the academic enterprise.
