Fall Commencement Ceremony
A severe winter storm forced the cancellation of the University of Toledo’s Fall Commencement ceremony that was scheduled for Sunday, December 16. Although it is very important to celebrate the achievements of our graduates, safety of those graduates and their families and friends was the first concern.

While UT cannot reschedule its Fall Commencement, Fall graduates are invited to attend the Spring Commencement ceremony to be held in the Glass Bowl on Saturday, May 3, 2008. Law graduates are invited instead to the College of Law’s Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 4, 2008.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Accessibility and Commencement.

What happens after Commencement?
Following commencement and after all grades are posted, the colleges begin the task of clearing students for graduation.  This means the college reviews final grades to determine that all degree requirements have been met and notifies the Registrar's Office when the degree can be awarded

Once cleared by the college, the Registrar's Office posts the degree to the transcript and mails out the diploma.  This process is ongoing for 30 days past commencement.

To verify that your degree has been awarded, main campus graduates should follow instructions for viewing your unofficial transcript online.

Honors - The actual honors awarded at the time a degree is posted is based on the final cumulative GPA.  The diploma will show the honors awarded with the degree.  If honors changed as a result of final grades received, the diploma is reordered which may cause a delay in receipt of the diploma in some instances.
