Limited Submissions Competitions, The University of Toledo
Some programs offer special awards/opportunities that place a limit on the number of individuals or proposals The University of Toledo may submit. Some sponsors choose to place a restriction on the total number of nominees/applications submitted per institution, school and/or discipline.
When this limitation is stipulated in their program guidelines, an internal review and selection process is necessary to select the best-qualified candidate(s)/proposal(s) to represent the University.
Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is responsible for selecting which candidates will be allowed to submit their proposals within the deadline. Please check this website often for updates on new limited submission finding opportunities that require internal competitions. Generally, when the maximum number of submissions is not received by the campus deadline, the competition will remain open.
Prior to preparing a proposal, a faculty member should always review the instructions from the agency for any limitations on proposals from an institution. It is the primary responsibility of the faculty member to check with Research and Sponsored Programs in such cases. The list below includes some of the more common funding opportunities which have required internal competitions in the past. Specific notices for current competitions, including exact deadlines, can be found by viewing the COS links provided below. (UT faculty and students may create a COS account here.)
