The mission of the Office of Dean of Students is to ensure that students accomplish their educational and personal goals within the context of the broader academic purpose of the University. The Office of Dean of Students promotes the development of, and enhances the educational experience for, students through intentionally designed cocurricular opportunities and through institutional policy development on students' behalf.

The dean of students is responsible for directing and developing programs to enhance the quality of student life. Additional responsibilities include supervising the various offices in the Division of Student Affairs and implementing programs and policies. The units that are supervised by the dean of students include:
