"Serving the Needs of Latino Students.''
Bienvenidos / Welcome to The University of Toledo's Office of Latino Initiatives Web site, the site to visit when you want to know about programs and events that enhance the Latino college experience. The purpose of this web site is to serve as an informational source on the work of The Office of Latino Initiatives. Some accomplishments to this office’s credit are the Annual Latino Student Recognitions recognizing academic achievement and leadership; was the first higher education institution partnering with Image of Northwest Ohio to raise scholarship funds for Latino college students; conceptualized the Latino Youth Summit (LYS) guiding 6-12 grade students as they plan & prepare for college; administers Primos, a mentorship project supported by FYE.
In a nutshell The Office of Latino Initiatives is THE advocate students, faculty and staff turn to when they need a facilitator who can get things done quickly and effectively. At your left learn more about the individual attention we give students. Use this web site to stay on top of current initiatives and important announcements regarding scholarship and internship application deadlines.
I encourage you to check out Primos, a peer mentoring program for entering freshmen and transfer students. Scholarship opportunities are available!
We are here to serve you and to ensure your success at UT.
Sinceramente,
Sabina Elizondo-Serratos - Director
