    Pacesetter Award

    Eligibility:

    Individuals who are not directly responsible for academic advising, but whose roles and actions, programs and services, support and advance the quality of academic advising and academic advisers at the University of Toledo are eligible for this award.  Past recipients are not eligible for this award.

    Criteria:

    The selection committee will evaluate nominations on the evidence of qualities and practices that distinguish the nominee as an outstanding supporter of academic advising.  Such evidence may include:

    • demonstrated support of academic advising and its practitioners at UT
    • involvement in practices and policymaking that enhance the delivery of advising services
    • innovation in collaborative efforts to enhance advising and student centeredness   

    Award

    The award recipient will receive a $500.00 cash award.  All individuals nominated for the Pacesetter Award will be recognized at the program.

    Submission Procedures

    1. A completed nomination form signed by the nominator.
    2. A summary of the nominee’s qualifications by the nominator detailing how the nominee meets award criteria.  This summary may reference data, letters of support, or other materials that demonstrate why the nominee is an exemplary candidate for the Pacesetter Award (e.g. involvement in policy making, institutional advancement of the aims of academic advising, involvement in or direction of programs/services to enhance the effectiveness of student services). 
    3. A personal statement on how they support and view advising by the nominee not to exceed one page.

    A complete set of nomination materials must be submitted to the Student Success Center, MS 333, Rocket Hall 1400, by Friday, March 28, 2008.   Nomination materials will not be returned and become property of the selection committee.
